Dreams in the Arms of the Binding Lady is a fusion of physical theater, story-telling and unconventional object manipulation. Four ethereal Japanese ghost stories are framed in the dreams of a man who is trapped in a intertwined web of seduction: the arms of the Binding Lady. His ghostly visions of webs and strings are played out using Japanese physical theater and original music with a touch of surrealism.
Dreams in the Arms of the Binding Lady was performed in Peru in July 2012.
“Izumi Ashizawa Performance unwraps the subliminal human psyche. The symbolism behind the costume, set, and masks transforms every second in front of the audience's eyes. It is a transformational theater experience.”
Dreams in the Arms of the Binding Lady features a set piece as a spider web puppet, masks, segmented body parts as puppets, costume as puppets. It is suitable for any audiences with a taste for the avant-garde.
